Biography of Randy A. Reed

Recently nominated Person of the Year by the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce, and currently serving as Mayor of Castle Rock, Randy Reed was born in Wichita, Kansas and raised in Oklahoma City, OK, Mayor Randy Reed received his Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Central State University, Edmond, OK.

Randy served with the 101st Airborne in Vietnam. 

In 1980 he relocated his family to Littleton, CO, then in 1987 chose to move to Castle Rock, CO, for the small town atmosphere and the diversity of the people.

Reed was first elected to the Castle Rock Town Council in 2004; then was elected as Mayor in 2006. Randy won re-election to Town Council for his third term and was voted in as Mayor for 2008 on April 8th. Furthermore, Randy was appointed by Governor Bill Owens to serve as Commissioner for the Colorado Civil Rights Commission that he is currently serving. He has re-applied for the position with Governor Bill Ritter.

Reed has a track record of being involved in each community that he has resided, including serving on HOA’s, serving as a leader within various community golf associations and initiating fundraisers for charitable foundations.

As a businessman with an entrepreneurial spirit he developed, owns and operates two successful custom framing/art retail stores, FASTFRAME of Greenwood Village and FASTFRAME of Castle Rock.

Reed has been married to his wife, Hattie, for 38 years and the couple has two adult daughters, Rachel and Hillary; and son-in-law, Ryan Nance. The family welcomed their first grandson, Radley, in 2007

Many would agree Reed is “never without an opinion and his code of ethics is… just do what is right”.
